If on a winter night a traveller – from literary interactivity to filmic interactivity Bruno Mendes da Silva

Conversas / Masterclasses

Fascination with the question of time and its possible relation to cinema and literature is the guiding thread of this Talk. Psychosomatic processes can provide us with different sensations and, consequently, different perceptions regarding the passage of time, gaining, through cinematographic support, potential for experimentation. This phenomenon can encourage the spectator to move from an extradiagetic plane to an intradiagetic plane, giving him/her an active role in the construction of the narrative. However, this potential is not exclusive to cinema and has already been utilised in literature, by authors such as Jorge Luís Borges and Italo Calvino.
