Filmed entirely inside a prison, with protagonists and co-authors who are prisoners themselves, Fortezza is the reinterpretation of Dino Buzzati's masterpiece "The Tartar Steppe". Getting around the wall. Transforming the limitation into a stimulus. This is the constant work that takes place in prison. Shooting a film in a place constrained by restrictions forces us to rethink the time and space of shooting, the time and space of dialogues, the time and space of silence, the time and space of emptiness. The Fortress is a military garrison, a prison, a place of the soul.
