The Canterbury Tales [I Racconti di Canterbury, Trilogia della Vita] Pier Paolo Pasolini

Italian Cycle

Pier Paolo Pasolini draws inspiration from the medieval poet Geoffrey Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales”, similar in structure to Boccaccio’s “Decameron”, in this second film in his Trilogy Of Life. In Pasolini’s words “in these movies I wanted to depict a physical reality, a corporal reality that I see being destroyed (...)”. Shocking though it may be, the film brought Pasolini the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.
